Mark 2: 18-22
They are certain things we think are important others don’t agree with us. We need to respond cautiously and think carefully about what you get upset about. Read Philippians – there is Joy on every page!
In modern society fasting is done for two reasons – one to lose weight and the second reason being to propose a threat. But that is not what biblical fasting is about. It is a means of opening oneself up to the means of God. It opens one up to the substances of God.
Reasons for fasting in the Bible:
To strengthen prayer – Ezra 8
Seeking gods guidance -
Express grief – 2 Samuel 1
Seeking protection -
Express repentance – Jonah 3
Humble oneself before god -
Minister to others – Isaiah 58
Overcome temptation matthew 4
Express love to god -
Fasting must never be viewed as a mechanical arrangement! Approach not rudely but with respect. We don’t tell God what to do!
We shouldn’t seek human honor for what we do before God in secret!!

Don’t go anywhere looking sour!
You have the joy of the lord and that is your strength!
A life lived for Christ should be like a wedding NOT a funeral!
If you are going to fast do it in order to open yourself to the purposes of God. if you’re going to be sad about it…. DON’T do it!! Maintain your JOY!!
Remember:
Your responsibility, by God’s enabling, is to consistently apply the devine principles and truths you have heard! – Philippians 2:12-18, 1 Timothy 4:7-9, James 1:22-27.
As you meditate on the message, ask yourself these questions:
How does God want my beliefs/actions to change?
How can I accomplish this change?
What is the first step toward bringing about this change?

Thanks. The hardest part about fasting is not saying “Im hungry!” every two minutes. At least for me
LOL! I agree that is a hard aspect of fasting! Sometimes drinking more water can help curb that! Good luck & God bless!
